How the Engine Works

This explosion pushes the pistons down, which turns the crankshaft and generates power.

As the engine runs, oil is circulated through the engine to lubricate and cool the moving parts. The timing belt or chain ensures that the valves and pistons move in sync, and the camshaft controls the timing and duration of the valves opening and closing.
